About Steve
Just a bit of extra background information about myself.
You can not design experiences without experience. So when I am not working, I like to experiment with ways to live a healthier life. While my weekly routine involves a couple hot yoga classes, a kettlebell workout and lots of walking to clear my brain. I will on occasion a take a trip to do cryotherapy or even a float tank. I find doing weird things like that helps me keep my brain sharp because you never know what might help trigger a new idea. It also helps manage my daily stress so when I am at work, I am happier and able to bring positive energy to the team.
Currently I am working on a yoga teacher training because I have been practicing yoga for over ten years and have been curious how to grow that knowledge. I also have a background in martial arts that became the foundation of my discipline both personally and professionally.
Before starting my career in design, I was a repair technician for Sprint and I still love taking things apart to try to fix things to this day. That drive to fix things is what motivates me in design, but instead of fixing phones, I fix software. But also dealing with customers (especially angry ones), means I come with a bonus set of soft skills that you do not learn from school. So things like conflict resolution and staying calm if things get tense are things I do without thinking about it.
