Design Philosophy

I have learned that being adaptable is vital to successfully designing anything. You have to know when to compromise and when to fight for an idea. Between my grad program and my background in martial arts, you do not want to fight every battle and sometimes making a compromise that will strengthen a relationship with a Project Manager or Developer is the better long term decision.

I take pride in my ability to build relationships with my teammates and will go out of my way to befriend the challenging developer (we all know one). At the end of the day we all just want to do good work and yes I want to be a good designer but equally important I want to be a good teammate.

There are four general rules I abide by:

  • Be open, honest and ethical

  • Know your constraints

  • Failing isn’t that bad

  • Have fun.
